Business

St. Michael has an attractive environment for existing and new business. With a convenient location along I-94, TH 101 and TH 241, St. Michael is only 25 miles to downtown Minneapolis and 35 miles to St. Cloud. This community of nearly 17,000 people continues to grow and provide excellent opportunities for business growth in a lower property and sales tax environment than nearby metro counties.

The St. Michael Economic Development Authority has a wide range of resources to offer -  review the links to the left for more information. The City's EDA works hard to promote the retention and expansion of existing businesses while attracting new businesses to the community in order to promote a diversified tax base, increased job opportunities, and convenient shopping for residents. The seven-member EDA consists of two Council representatives and five residents appointed by the Council. The current EDA members include Councilmember Nadine Schoen, Councilmember Tom Hamilton, Matt Kammann, Phil Hines, Aaron Craig, Nick Shultz and Chad Vitzhum. The EDA meets the fourth Wednesday of each month from 1-3 p.m.
