Planning Commission

The Planning Commission makes recommendations to the City Council on requests for subdivisions, commercial/industrial site plans, conditional use permits, rezonings, and Comprehensive Plan amendments. The Planning Commission has the authority to approve or deny variance requests without requiring Council action. The seven-member Planning Commission consists of St. Michael residents whom the City Council appoints. The current Planning Commission members include Chair Shannan Marshall, Vice-Chair Brian Mielke, Commission Members Kyle Hartnett, Laura Bistodeau, Deborah Briggs, Aaron Craig, and Trevor Ash. Newly appointed member Michelle Davies (not pictured) filled Laura Bistodeau's open seat after Bistodeau resigned. The City Council is currently interviewing for the open seat left by Hartnett, and will fill that opening soon.
