Crow River Senior Center
The Crow River Senior Center is a community of fantastic people from Albertville, Hanover, St. Michael, and surrounding communities. Their mission is to enrich lives by providing programs, services, social activities, and a welcoming gathering place for seniors.
Do you have to be a resident of St. Michael to participate in the Center’s programs?
No, the Center is open to anyone and is a joint program of the Cities of St. Michael, Albertville, and Hanover, and Senior Community Services. We focus on serving the communities and surrounding areas of these three cities.
Is there a charge to belong to the Center?
There are no center membership fees, though select services, special events or trips may have a cost to participate. Donations to the Center are always welcome to help support low and no cost programming and activities.
What types of programs are offered at the Center?
Center programming includes a variety of fitness classes, games, artistic and crafting activities, book clubs, discussion groups, health and wellness services, legal services, safe driving courses, technology support and coaching, and more. Is there a senior dining program in St. Michael?
Lunches are served at the Center Tuesday through Thursday each week at noon. The cost is $7.00 per meal and reservations for the upcoming week must be made by Friday at 2 p.m. Cancellations must be made at least one day prior to the meal by calling the Center at 763-497-8900. Monthly menus are available in the Crow River Senior Center Newsletter.
Is there a Meals on Wheels program?
The Meals on Wheels program delivers frozen meals to area seniors. This service is provided by Optage. For more information about Optage services.
Are health and wellness services offered in St. Michael?
A variety of fitness classes are hosted at the Center each month. Wright County Public Health takes appointments for foot care for a fee . Check out the fitness classes that are available in the Crow River Senior Center Newsletter.
Are 55+ driving classes offered?
At the Center, the Minnesota Highway Safety and Research Center hosts a 4-hour refresher course for the 55+ Driver Discount Program. There is a fee for the course. Registration is required via mnsafetycenter.org or by calling 1-888-234-1294.
Is AARP Tax Aide available in St. Michael?
Help with income tax is available at the Center from February through April. Each year, January's Crow River Senior Center Newsletter provides available dates and scheduling information.
Are trips offered through the Center?
Yes, a variety of day trips are scheduled throughout the year. Trips generally have a cost associated with them. Check on upcoming trip opportunities in the Crow River Senior Center Newsletter.
Are there support groups offered in the area?
The Center hosts two support groups each month, one for Caregiver Support and another specifically for those impacted by Parkinson’s Disease. The Center also regularly hosts a Memory Café for those affected by any form of memory loss or dementia. There is no cost to attend.
