Public Works/Equipment Operator

Saint Michael (Pop. 22,000) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Public Works/Equipment Operator.

Position Description

This position will involve concrete, blacktop, and all aspects of street repair, parks maintenance, manual labor, operation of heavy and light street equipment, snowplowing, etc. 

Minimum requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Good driving record and Class B CDL driver's license with air brake
  • Ability to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement within six (6) months of hire

Preferred Experience with

  • Equipment operation and maintenance
  • Mechanical knowledge
  • DOT Commercial Motor Vehicle Certification
  • Concrete forming/pouring/finishing
  • Black top paving
  • Fabrication
  • Carpentry
  • Snowplowing

Pay Range

  • Starting range $32.44/hour to $35.99/hour (dependent on qualifications).
  • Pay range $32.44/hour to $39.55/hour.

Seasonal Outdoor Rink Attendant

Family Youth Community Connection (FYCC) is accepting applicants for the position of Seasonal Outdoor Rink Attendant.

Position Description

This position performs various tasks to maintain and monitor warming houses and outdoor skating rinks while serving the public. 

  • Applicants must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Hours may include afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Responsible for opening and closing facilities according to rink policy.
  • Supervise and monitor warming house facility and skating rink.
  • Maintain and clean warming house area and restroom.
  • Shovel snow to building entrance and clean skating rink surfaces of snow as required.
  • Patch holes and large cracks in ice.
  • Assist young skaters with skate lacing.
  • Monitor skating rinks to ensure safe skating.
  • Keep general skating area free from hockey play.
  • Perform record keeping tasks (i.e. number of participants and other required reports)
  • Provide general direction and supervision to youth and adults.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Starting Pay

  • $14/hour
